Alvera PureGuard is a universal, single-use in-line CPAP bacteria filter that sits between the machine outlet and the hose on standard CPAP and BiPAP circuits, offered in packs of 1, 5 or 10.
About the CPAP bacteria filter
An in-line filter does a different job from the machine's own inlet filter. The inlet filter cleans room air on the way in; PureGuard sits at the machine outlet, filtering the airflow at the boundary between device and circuit and acting as a barrier to anything travelling back down the hose towards the blower.
That makes it a routine consumable wherever a machine passes between users: clinical services, loan and hire fleets, and devices returned for reissue. Services typically fit a fresh filter at every change of user, alongside their own decontamination procedure, and where the wearer has a respiratory infection.
This CPAP bacteria filter pushes on at both ends with no tools and is disposed of after use, so there is no cleaning routine. It is not intended for AirMini, which has no conventional outlet connection. Packs of 1, 5 and 10 cover single trials, regular replacement and fleet use.
Key features
- Universal in-line fitting: Sits between the machine outlet and the hose on standard CPAP and BiPAP circuits.
- Outlet-side barrier: Filters the airflow where machine and circuit meet, including in the direction of the blower.
- Change between users: Suited to services, loan fleets and reissued machines that fit a fresh filter for each user.
- Push-fit, no tools: Fits at both ends in seconds with nothing to adjust on the machine.
- Single use: Disposable by design, with no washing routine to manage.
- Three pack sizes: Packs of 1, 5 and 10, each with its own code for accurate reordering.
Compatibility
- Not compatible with ResMed AirMini

Use and care
- Single use only: do not wash, rinse, dry or reuse a filter.
- Confirm both ends are fully seated before use, as a partial connection leaks pressure.
- Replace immediately if the filter becomes wet, soiled, discoloured, crushed or split.
- Fit a fresh filter whenever the machine passes to a different user.
- An in-line filter adds a small resistance to the circuit; any change in how pressure feels should be reviewed by the service responsible for the wearer's care.
- Dispose of used filters in line with local policy. The instructions supplied with the filter and the machine, and any infection control policy, take precedence.
The Alvera range
Alvera is the own-brand range from Elarix Medical, built around the parts and consumables that sleep therapy depends on and that need renewing on a schedule: PureFlow filters for Air 10, Air 11 and AirMini machines, ThermaAir heated tubing, AirFlex tubing, AquaPure water chambers, AirSoft cushions, AirFrame frames, AirStrap headgear, AirForm masks, Humiva HME cartridges and PureWipe cleaning wipes. Every product carries its own reference and GS1 barcode, so a repeat order is placed against a code rather than a description, and every line ships from our Leeds warehouse.
